8th-11th September - Bestival 2016 - Robin Hill, Newport

The award winning Bestival returns for 2016, after what has been hailed as its best year ever!

Acts already announced include: Animal Collective, Aurora, Craig David’s TS5, The Human League, Katy B, Krept & Konan, Petite Mellar, Skepta, Skream, Years & Years, Tourist, Wolf Alice and many more to be added!



17th September - International Classic Car Show - Newport Quay

Now in its 15th Year, the famous Isle of Wight, Charity Classic Car event promises to be the biggest and best ever. Vehicles from all over the UK and mainland Europe will be attending this unique two-day show

Both shows will be FREE to attend.

18th September - West Wight Triathlon - West Wight Sports Centre, Freshwater

The popular West Wight Triathlon is back for 2016 with its spectacular cycle along the Military Road, along the south west coast of the Isle of Wight and flat run along the picturesque River Yar. Transition is in the field adjoining the Sports Centre where the pool is located. An ideal race for first timers but challenging enough for more experienced racers.

1st  October - 5th November - Electric Woods "Festival of Light" - Arreton

Enjoy the ambience of Robin Hill’s ‘Electric Woods’ with the Festival of Light inspired by Diwali, a stunning spectacle of creatively themed light, colour, sound, and entertainment inspired by India.  

As darkness falls, experience the lush colours, flavours and magic of the Asian sub-continent set in Robin Hill’s glorious autumnal ancient woodland.

Park open evenings :  6pm – 10pm  (open till 9pm during half term, 22nd – 30th October 2016)



21st - 23rd October 2016 - Isle of Wight Autumn Walking Festival 2016 - Islandwide

The Isle of Wight is a walker’s dream, being located just a few miles from the mainland and two hours from London, and offering over 500 miles of well-maintained footpaths through spectacular scenery and terrain, making it a perfect place for a walking holiday or break With footpaths that wind through fields and forests, around 64 miles of coast paths adjacent to some of the Isle of Wight’s most dramatic coastline and beaches.

The Autumn Walking Weekend gives you the opportunity to breathe in the beautiful scenery and autumnal colours that the Island has to offer.  With over 60 walks to choose from there are walks for all ages and abilities, and led by our friendly and knowledgeable leaders, who will take you on a journey of mystery, intrigue and exploration as you traverse the Island’s countryside, woodland, pastures, meadows and footpaths.

There are plenty of walks for toddlers to join in, they can also enjoy Fossil hunting, and walking with the friendly West Wight Alpaca.  Amongst the vast selection of walks, we have our dedicated ambles, rambles, historical and general exploration walks.


December

11th December - The Chilly Hilly - West Wight Sports Centre, Freshwater

A race to warm you up this winter,  a 10 mile cross country run taking in some of the most spectacular views and hills the West Wight has to offer.  If you enjoyed our Needles XC Half Marathon, you won’t want to miss the Chilly Hilly.  There’ll be a quirky event memento along with mince pies and mulled wine for runners at the finish line.
